An exceptional pair of Antique Library Ladders, handcrafted from pitch pine and featuring a beautiful rich oak colour palette. These late 19th-century pieces were crafted by skilled joiners and originated from country house estate of Welsh heritage. This almost matching pair not only exemplifies fine craftsmanship but also adds a touch of elegance to any library or home décor.

Design and Features:
Top and bottom steps of the ladders is expertly morticed into the runs, ensuring strength and durability. The earlier made of the two ladder features brass-threaded bars, while both ladders utilise fine-threaded bars. Small details matter: each step showcases a charming scallop, and the runs have a small rebate detail, reflecting craftmanship of the period.

The simple hinged flip-down shelf at the top adds practical functionality, making these ladders not just beautiful, but also useful for reaching high shelves or displaying books and décor.

Condition:
Both ladders are in good sound condition, exhibiting wear marks, a small number of dinks and notches, and a beautifully time-worn patina that enhances their character. These signs of age contribute to their unique charm, making them perfect for those who appreciate authentic antique pieces.
